Serie A Round 29

Mar 16, 2013

Catania 3 – 1 Udinese
Papu Gomez 49, 67, Lodi 71 – Muriel 81

Bologna 0 – 2 Juventus
Vucinic 61, Marchisio 73

Bologna put up a fight but Juve prevailed — they are just too strong for anyone in the league at the moment. Bologna coach Pioli got irritated by “excessive” Conte celebrations which began even before the final whistle. Pioli has no reason to be unhappy though: his side did well against very strong opposition.

Mar 17, 2013

Siena 0 – 0 Cagliari

Milan 2 – 0 Palermo
Balotelli 8 pen, 66

Aronica needlessly tugged Balotelli’s shirt in Palermo area, penalty. Balotelli converted to maintain his 100% record from the spot. In the second half, substitute Niang crossed from the left, Aronica made an attempt to intercept but diverted the ball into his own keeper and Balotelli thumped the ball in on the rebound. Aronica got Balotelli’s shirt after the final whistle.

Fiorentina 3 – 2 Genoa
Aquilani 33, Cuadrado 62, Cassani 77 og – Portanova 58, Antonelli 69
Sent Off: Bertolacci 75 (Genoa, second yellow)

Napoli 3 – 2 Atalanta

Stoian 88, Thereau 90+3

Roma 2 – 0 Parma
Lamela 7, Totti 70

Interim coach Andreazolli played the 3-4-2-1 formation, and Roma demonstrated excellent attacking football. Lamela opened the scoring by getting in the way of De Rossi’s shot and deflecting the ball into the net. Perrotta hit the underside of the bar from some eight meters in front of goal. Parma had a couple of good scoring chances too. Totti hit the inside of the post from a free kick before sending a thunderbolt of a free kick under the wall and into the net. Both sides had other opportunities to score, 5-3 would have been a more appropriate result for this entertaining football. Roma have four wins and one draw from their last five games under Andreazzoli and look ahead with optimism.

Torino 1 – 0 Lazio
Jonathas 78

The match was played in heavy snowfall. Lazio players most likely haven’t completely recovered after their Europa League game on Thursday. They were also reduced to ten men after just 15 minutes of play when Ciani mindlessly got two yellow cards in the space of 45 seconds. Torino scored the only goal of the game from a corner 12 minutes before the end. Third league defeat in a row for Lazio.

Sampdoria – Inter

The match was postponed due to flood warning.
