Serie A Round 12

Nov 9, 2013

Catania 1 – 0 Udinese
Maxi Lopez 30 pen

Inter 2 – 0 Livorno
Bardi 30 og, Nagatomo 90+1

After being the Inter owner for 18 years, Massimo Moratti has sold 70% of the club recently and will resign as president as well. Back in 1995, the first player Moratti had signed after becming the president was Argentinean Javier Zanetti. With 8 minutes left on the clock in the Saturday game, the 40-year old Inter captain Zanetti came on as a sub, returning from a 6-month long injury layoff. In stoppages he started the move which led to Inter’s second goal. After the goal, Inter players celebrated not by hugging the goalscorer Nagatomo, instead they ran to congratulate Il Capitano. A very emotional moment.

Nov 10, 2013

Genoa 2 – 0 Verona
Portanova 29, Kucka 35

Atalanta 2 – 1 Bologna

3 minutes into stoppages with the score at 1-1 Livaja aimed at goal with a shot from some 20 meters, the shot went straight at Curci who attempted to parry it with his fists but instead deflected the ball into his own net, a really bad mistake by the Bologna goalkeeper.

Cagliari captain Daniele Conti scored twice from free kicks to give his side a much needed win after three consequtive defeats.

Chievo 0 – 0 Milan

Lucarelli 64 – Keita 50
Sent off: Rosi 86 (Parma, straight red for dissent)

Roma 1 – 1 Sassuolo
Longhi 19 og – Berardi 90+4

Longhi’s attempted clearance went into own net. Roma failed to score the second goal to secure their win and they were made to pay when 10 seconds from the end Berardi smashed the ball in after a chaotic Sassuolo attack.

Fiorentina 2 – 1 Sampdoria
Giuseppe Rossi 11 pen, 17 – Gabbiadini 75

Juventus 3 – 0 Napoli
Llorente 2, Pirlo 74, Pogba 80
Sent off: Ogbonna 83

Llorente was offside when he scored the opener very early in the game. Pirlo curled in a beautiful free kick over the wall. The third goal was even better: Pogba flicked the ball up in the air then volleyed it from some 20 meters and it went in off the post, fantastic strike. Pogba admitted after the game that his first touch which sent the ball up in the air wasn’t
intentional.
